Holyoke Students

Holyoke, MA

Students in the Holyoke community will be able to learn about health care choices through connections in the Holyoke Public Schools (William Dean Technical High School and Holyoke High School), and Holyoke Community College. Other supportive partners include the Holyoke Health Center and the Sisters of Providence Health System. Careers in the healthcare field are a positive goal in the Holyoke Community, and programs and activities of HCOP will enable interested individuals to learn about requirements for health profession programs at other community programs such as the Community Education Project and the Adult Basic Education (ABE) program housed at Holyoke Community College.

The interest in certified nursing assistant (CNA) program is an example of the many other areas in which student interest is high. HCOP goals are to expand student awareness about health careers in the Holyoke community, and to increase student enrollment and completion of health profession programs at Holyoke Community College and other higher education institutions.

HCOP is interested in coordinating its health career exploration with existing agencies in Holyoke and to extend this relationship with new partners in the community.
