PV-HCOP collaborates with Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) to conduct Patient Simulation Lab workshops
The Pioneer Valley Health Careers Opportunity Program (PV-HCOP) initiated health career exploration activities by collaborating with Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) to conduct Patient Simulation Lab workshops. High school students affiliated with the Pioneer Valley Area Health Education Center (PVAHEC) in Springfield participated in 10 workshops designed to introduce them to patient care scenarios as well as hands on practical exercises. The SIMS courses included respiratory therapy, CPR, surgical techniques, basic patient assessment exercises, and universal health precautions in the healthcare environment.
