Springfield College Summer Institute
In effort to make a more competitive applicant pool of allied health candidates in the Pioneer Valley, Springfield College will be hosting a free 10-day summer institute that introduces prospective students to allied health careers. Students will explore the variety of allied health careers through clinical site visits and will learn what is expected of them academically to enter into a particular field. Kathy Pappas, assistant professor of Physical Therapy and Human Anatomy at Springfield College will teach the course and will be accepting applications for up to 20 students. The program will run from May 24, 2010 – June 4, 2010 and is designed for graduating high school seniors, new or first-year college students, and adults in transition (with GEDs). Potential students should have interest in a specific health career or general desire to learn about health careers.
