Springfield, Massachusetts is the home of Baystate Medical Center and the Sisters of Providence Health System, two major employers of healthcare workers. It is the goal of HCOP to expose students to the variety of careers that will be desired as these organizations look to replace retired workers and hire new employees. Springfield also contains the largest school system in Western Massachusetts with noteworthy school activities aimed at assisting students in to enter college and the workforce.
HCOP will collaborate its activities with actions such public health clubs in high schools, afterschool enrichment programs, and job shadowing experiences for selected students.
